Calderglen Country Park – Calderwood Estate

Calderglen Country Park consists of the Torrance Estate at the southern end of the park where the Zoo is and the Calderwood Estate at the northern end.

Calderwood Estate is where you will find Castle Falls and what remains of the grand home that use to belong to the Maxwell Family.

You can access this end of the park either by walking from the Torrance Estate end and crossing Newhousemill Road or use any of the following access points.

  • Nithsdale, off St Leonards Road
  • Calderwood Gardens off Alloway Road
  • Lammermoor Play park and Kennilworth off St Leonards Road via Tewksbury Road and Barrie Road
  • The Hamilton Expressway by foot only

The park is currently managed by South Lanarkshire Leisure who concentrate their efforts at the Torrance House end. For more information visit South Lanarkshire Leisure and access the trail map.
